1. Viticulture and wine have been the lifeblood of the Giovanetti family for 3 generations. A real family business to produce outstanding wines in a special region of Italy. Since 2011, the family has also dedicated its time to the Moselle region of Germany. 2. Castellfeder Winery was founded in 1969 by Alfonso Giovanet, who attended the famous wine school in San Michele all’Adige. Alfonso now enjoys life and follows the development of Castelfedera with admiration. He is delighted that his passion for wine and his many years of trading experience are supported by his son Gunther and his family. 3.Castelfeder produces 60% white wines and 40% red wines. Sustainable growing of grapes, very strict control and limitation of yield, 100% manual labor. 4. In 1989, the founder's son, Günther Giovanett, took over the management of the wine business. The purchase of new vineyards and close cooperation with other winegrowers in the area gave Gunther new opportunities to produce excellent wines by carefully choosing the best production areas. 5. Alessandra Giovanet and her husband have been involved in winemaking operations for more than 20 years, managing Castelfedera's administrative responsibilities. Her strength lies in communication and the gracious care, support and love of her mother. 6. Three important grape varieties originated in South Tyrol: Schiava, a typical South Tyrolean red wine that is the most common; Gewürztraminer, which is known all over the world; and Lagrein, an internationally recognized South Tyrolean wine. 7.60 hectares of Castelfeder vineyards are spread from Salorno to Bolzano, producing about 500,000 bottles a year. Wine is served with appetizers, fried mushrooms, poultry and freshwater fish.
The aromatic bouquet of wine is rich, demonstrates generous fruity notes, among which a special place is given to tones of pear and apple.
The taste of wine is balanced, rather dry, with a smooth texture and seductive fruity notes. The finish is long, pleasant and mineral.
