Alexis Jeanno, a native of the Jeanne family who has run the estate for the past 200 years, now manages a 10-hectare domain. 15% of vines in the domain are older than 50 years, which is a rarity for a region where most vines older than 20 years are dug up and transplanted to obtain higher yields. The vineyards around Saint-Sernin-du-Plain were planted by his grandfather Quentin Jeanno, ie from 70 to 80 years old. Alexis is one of 20% of local winemakers who cultivate their soil mechanically and do not use herbicides, allowing grass to grow between rows to limit erosion and yields. Domaine Jeannot is a predominantly red domain. Only 10% is white wine.
