Dry white grape wine Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru, Domaine Jeannot 0.75, 2018
- Brands Domaine Jeannot
Alexis Jeanno, a native of the Jeanne family who has run the estate for the past 200 years, now manages a 10-hectare domain. 15% of vines in the domain are older than 50 years, which is a rarity for a region where most vines older than 20 years are dug up and transplanted to obtain higher yields. The vineyards around Saint-Sernin-du-Plain were planted by his grandfather Quentin Jeanno, ie from 70 to 80 years old. Alexis is one of 20% of local winemakers who cultivate their soil mechanically and do not use herbicides, allowing grass to grow between rows to limit erosion and yields. Domaine Jeannot is a predominantly red domain. Only 10% is white wine.
Good for pasta, oily fish, shellfish, soft and medium-soft cheeses and sausages.
Revealed in shades of spring flowers, almonds, apples, citrus and butter.
The wine is full-bodied, elegant, with an oily texture, delicate acidity and mineral shades in a long aftertaste.
